County Windows (Sussex) Ltd was established in 1982 by Jack and Jo Evans, joined by their son Michael and later daughter Mandy, in Horam village.

The philosophy of the business then, and now, is to always offer good, professional advice to customers and never to offer gimmicks. If you offer a 10 year guarantee, then you should be there throughout the 10 years if ever a customer has a problem. Clearly this has paid off as we are a thriving business and have been since 1982.

That is nearly 28 years ago and almost three times the guarantee period offered by them. So perhaps their philosophy and products have stood the test of time?

The Horam showroom was a landmark in the village, but as the company grew it became more and more difficult to find space for an ever increasing range of product and sadly we had to leave the village for larger premises in 2001 in Heathfield where we created a new showroom displaying all our products and with space for our conservatories.

We are fortunate to have had a great bunch of people working for County through the years, including Steve who ran the company in Jack’s absence for many years– but especially all the sales people, installations and admin teams, through to the team of craftsmen who translate the surveys and quotations into reality – the window fitting and building teams. They work hard in all weathers and we receive many letters from satisfied customers all the time.

That is not to say we cannot make a mistake – we sometimes even manage that. But if so, we are here and remain here after 28 years to sort out any problem and we are rightly proud that we have successfully done so when ever we needed to. Can others boast the same?

In 2003 we expanded our building expertise and formed County Building (Sussex) as a part of the burgeoning County Group, following your demands for a better quality finish and response to you than told us you were receiving.

As such we are pleased to now offer extensions, loft conversions, internal refits, decking and patios, driveways and other groundwork’s including landscaping and we introduced our own in house design and architectural CAD service allowing us to draw your plans and building regulation drawings and work on your behalf in dealing with the local authority.

This move helped us to grow further with an expanding and loyal customer base and eventually in 2006 we were able to add the fantastic Timber window selection to our range, leading to our opening a specialist showroom for these and our other high quality windows and doors in PVCu and Timber effect PVCu, at Southborough in Tunbridge Wells.

Finally in January 2009 we introduced our own Kitchen range and refitted both showrooms to display them, offering a complete design and fitting service using all our professional carpenters, electricians, plumbers and tillers. Come in and see for yourself.

We now have an extensive display of conservatories, windows, doors, porches and other products as Heathfield (it even has a two storey house inside the showroom), while in Southborough the focus is mainly windows and doors, limited only by space but more than enough to tempt you in.

At both showrooms are examples of our kitchen range and our building work and we invite you to come and discuss any of your needs, however small, with a small group of experts at County.
